Rain, Yeowomen No Match for Tigers

In a contest where it rained throughout, the DePauw field hockey team managed to collect their sixth consecutive win after shutting out Oberlin 4-0 on Sunday.

DePauw scored all of their goals in the first half before giving their starters a rest for a majority of the second half.

Reilly Bruce started and ended the scoring at 4:38 and 28:50, with Tori Wittemann on the assist for the second goal. Bruce brings her season total to nine goals.

Kate Milner scored the second goal in the 10th minute, breaking free for a one-on-one with the goalie after a lead pass from Paige Berliner. Finally, senior Addie Ball connected with her eighth goal of the season from the top of the circle off a pass from the corner via Rose Revolinski.

The Tigers outshot the winless Yeowomen (0-13, 0-11) 22-8. Sarah Foye made three saves in net to improve to 8-1 on the year.

DePauw is now 12-3 overall and still sit in first place of the NCAC at 9-1. They'll face big challenges next weekend when they travel to Kenyon on Saturday and Denison on Sunday – the second and third place teams in the conference.

DePauw returns to Reavis Stadium Oct. 26 when they host Earlham on Play for the Cure night.
