Tigers pick up win in home opener

September 17, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored a pair of first-half goals on the way to a 2-1 win over visiting Wooster. The Tigers improved to 1-2 on the season, while Wooster dropped to 4-2.

Meredith Ellis gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead on a penalty stroke with 17:01 left in the first half and Beth Seegers made it 2-0 with an assist from Allison Baccich as time expired in the opening half.

Wooster cut the lead in half on Brittany Montgomery's goal with 7:33 left in the contest. Miranda Leickly added the assist.

DePauw outshot Wooster 19-12 and each team had nine corners. DePauw's Kaitlin Thomure recorded 10 saves, while Wooster's Anne Leigh finished with 12.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, September 20, when they host Transylvania at 4 p.m.
