Westerville, Ohio -- Otterbein collected a season-high 22 hits and defeated DePauw 17-3 on Tuesday.
DePauw started off well enough after an RBI single from Spencer Youngcourt in the top of the first, but Otterbein answered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Elliot Shebek recorded an RBI single in the third to make it 5-2, but Otterbein used a five-run fifth to widen the gap.
Otterbein scored two in the sixth before DePauw got an RBI single from TJ Carney-DeBord in the seventh. Otterbein then closed the game out in the eighth when Travis Grim hit a grand slam.
Jack Norton started and took the loss for DePauw, giving up eight runs, six earned, in 4.1 innings. John Kopicky went five innings for the win for Otterbein (11-6).
Youngcourt led DePauw with three hits. Collin Einertston went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
DePauw drops to 2-9 overall. They travel to Baldwin Wallace where they'll face John Carroll on Wednesday for a 12:15 p.m. contest.
