Loras Jumps Out Early for 13-6 Win

Greencastle, Ind. -- A six-run eighth inning was not enough Sunday as the DePauw baseball team lost to Loras 13-6.

The Tigers recorded just one hit before the inning and did all their scoring with two outs. TJ Carney-DeBord broke the floodgates open with a two-run single into left field with the bases loaded.

Later in another bases loaded situation, a high fly ball hit by Drew Mullarkey was misplayed in left field and the bases were cleared. Brayden White then scored Mullarkey on a double to right center.

A late entry, Carney-DeBord finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored.

That was all the scoring from DePauw as they could not erase a 13-run deficit. Loras starter Brad Schwind improved to 3-0 after a one-hit, eight strikeout performance through six innings.

DePauw starter Grant Rademacher (0-1) was relieved after three innings after giving up five runs -- three of which were earned.

Loras improved to 10-3 while DePauw dropped to 1-7. The Tigers travel to Butler on Wednesday.
