Louisville, Ky. -- DePauw closed its weekend dropping two games, the first a 15-13 outcome to Wisconsin-Platteville, and the second a 17-1 loss (7 inn.) to Spalding.

Game one was a one-run game between five innings. Wisconsin-Platteville tried to pull away with a five-run seventh, but DePauw answered with the same in the bottom of the inning. The Pioneers scored another four in the eighth, while DePauw answered with three in the bottom half, and the ninth went scoreless to give Wisconsin-Platteville the win.

The Tigers only had six hits to go with their 13 runs. Nolan Lavender, Austin Shirley and Sam Comer each recorded two RBI and a double.

Nick Casey started and took the loss, lasting 3.1 innings and surrendering four runs.

In game two, it was a tale of two bad innings as Spalding scored seven in the first and eight in the sixth. They tallied 17 runs on 12 hits while DePauw could only bring across one run on two hits.

CJ Yoannou and Jackson Williams were responsible for DePauw's two hits. Lavender scored in the second on a passed ball.

Spalding's Jimi Keating pitched a complete game, striking out eight. Jack Norton started and took the loss for the Tigers.

DePauw drops to 1-2 overall. They'll face Manchester in a 3-game series next weekend at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis.
