Tigers in Fifth at NCAC Championships

Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw totaled 25 points on the opening day of competition and is in fifth place at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. Ohio Wesleyan leads with 83 followed by Oberlin with 62, Denison 31 and Allegheny 30.

Jillian Balser was fourth in the pole vault at 10-0 (3.05m) as was Ashley Guevara in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:28.61). Maggie Royalty turned in a fourth-place showing in the long jump with a best mark of 16-2.5 (4.94m) with Meghan Burke right behind in fifth at 15-9.75 (4.82m).

Rounding out DePauw's scorers were Siri Retrum with a fifth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run in 38:54.67 and Trina Manalo in the discus at 106-4 (32.41m).

Katie Doron was fourth in the prelims of the 800 meters in 2:20 to qualify for Saturday's finals, while Royalty was seventh in the 100 meters in 13.12 and also qualified. 

Saturday's field events get underway at 10 a.m., while the running events start at 2:15.
