Gambier, Ohio -- The DePauw women's tennis team advanced out of the quarterfinals of the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday with a 5-0 win over Wittenberg.
The No. 1 seeded Tigers showed their dominance early with 8-0 wins in each of their double matches from the No. 1 team of Maddie Lee and Gretchen Wilder, the No. 2 team of Alyssa Seneviratne and Meredith Breda and the No. 3 team of Megan Galle and Sarah Wilder.
Lee and Gretchen Wilder respectively finished Wittenberg off at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles flights with Lee winning 6-0, 6-0 and Wilder winning 6-1, 6-0. The remaining matches were left unfinished.
The 26th-ranked Tigers improved to 14-6 overall, while Wittenberg drops to 5-16.
The top seeds all advanced in the first day of action with 5-0 scores. In the semifinals on Saturday, the Tigers will face the fourth-seeded Oberlin at 9 a.m. Kenyon and Denison square off in the other semifinal match.
