Greencastle, Ind. - The 11th-ranked Tigers wrapped up North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 record in the West Division and improved to 14-4 overall following a 5-4 win over 26th-ranked Denison. The Big Red finished NCAC West play at 2-1 and dropped to 9-8 overall.
The Tigers had few problems in sweeping doubles play with Caroline Emhardt and Maggie MacPhail picking up an 8-3 win over Kelsey Geppner and Taylor Hawkins at the first spot followed with Meg Crowley and Claire Marshall teaming for an 8-3 victory over Meg Chiumento and Sarah Torrence at second doubles.
Four of the six singles matches went to three sets with the Big Red winning three of those four. DePauw's singles wins cane at the number-three spot where Carolyn Huerth topped Chiumento 6-2, 6-1 and at the fifth position as Emhardt rallied to defeat Abzug 2-6, 6-0, 6-2.
DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, April 23, when it travels to IUPUI for a 6 p.m. match in the final tuneup prior to next weekend's NCAC Tournament.
