Madison, Wis. - The 11th-ranked Tigers advanced to tomorrow's Midwest Invitational championship match against #10 Washington-St. Louis after picking up a pair of wins today.
DePauw opened with a 7-2 win over St. Catherine before upending #12 Chicago by the same score. In the opening match, the Tigers swept doubles competition before winning in straight sets at second, third, fifth and sixth singles.
In the semifinals, DePauw and Chicago met for the third time this season with the Tigers picking up their second straight victory. Again, DePauw swept the three doubles matches before collecting singles victories at the third through sixth spots.
The 13-3 Tigers face the top-seeded Bears in tomorrow's 11 a.m. CDT title match. The teams have met twice previously this season with DePauw taking a 6-3 win on February 16 before losing, 6-3, on March 1.
