Franklin defeated the DePauw women's soccer team 4-3 on Wednesday, putting an end to the Tigers' four-game win streak to start the season.
DePauw took the initial lead on Ali Grimm's first goal of the season in the 35th minute, but Franklin tied it three minutes later as the teams entered the half tied at two.
The two teams traded goals again to begin the second half. Franklin scored in the 50th minute before DePauw countered in the 54th minute with a goal from Kathryn Ruark off an assist from Rebekah Crone. Crone also had the assist on Grimm's early goal.
Franklin then scored two goals in a row, one from Haley Lowe and another from Maddie Fleet. Bridget Kirby scored off a corner kick at 77:20, but DePauw failed to hit the equalizer in the final 13 minutes.
Riley Riordan took the loss in net, who was the victim of numerous breakaway plays. She made five saves.
DePauw outshot Franklin 16-11 and took 11 corner kicks to Franklin's two.
The Tigers drop to 4-1 on the year, while Franklin moves to 4-2. DePauw plays in the Titan Classic this weekend and will play Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.
