Naperville, Ill. - DePauw scored five goals in the first 10 minutes and never trailed on the way to a 19-9 win at North Central. The Tigers improved to 2-0, while the Cardinals dropped to 4-1.
The teams exchanged goals to start the game before the Tigers put together an 8-2 run to grab a 9-3 lead. DePauw's lead was 11-5 as the teams headed to the intermission.
North Central trimmed the lead to 12-7 with 19:00 left before the Tigers dominated the rest of the way and outscored the hosts, 7-2.
Madison Maas, Christina Truver and Emily Zadny each scored two for North Central with Zadny leading with two assists.
DePauw outshot North Central, 35-16, and led 18-9 in draw controls, but the Cardinals held a 21-15 edge in ground balls.
Five Tigers had two ground balls apiece, while Truver had six for North Central. Sydney Blake caused three of the Cardinals' turnovers. Truver and Anicia Mattingly had four caused turnovers each for North Central.
DePauw travels to Carthage where they'll face the Lady Reds tomorrow at 1 p.m. CDT.
