Greencastle, Ind. - Two members of the DePauw women's golf team have been recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association for their academic success during the 2013-14 season.
May 2014 graduate Paige Gooch (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) and rising sophomore Alexandria Ramirez (Naples, Fla./Community) were named WGCA All-American Scholars after meeting the minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average requirement.
She also was named the recipient of DePauw's Amy Hasbrook Award as the top senior female student-athlete in addition to being selected as the North Coast Athletic Conference's Pam Smith Award winner and the conference's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Gooch also earned NCAC Player of the Year honors for the second straight time. She majored in economics with a minor in mathematics.
A history major at DePauw, Ramirez earned all-region honors in her first collegiate season and was third on the team with an 80.5 stroke average. She also earned second team all-NCAC honors.
The Tigers finished eighth at the NCAA Division III Championships as they made their 13th straight appearance at the national championships. DePauw also won its third NCAC title in as many years.
