Greencastle, Ind.- After going 3-1 last week, including 14 scoreless innings against Allegheny, junior pitcher Kahla Nolan (West Chicago, Ill./Wheaton North) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Nolan defeated 23rd-ranked Washington University (Mo.) early in the week and capped off her successful stretch with two wins over Kenyon in the Tigers' NCAC opening series. She also picked up a save against Illinois College after throwing three innings in relief.
In 32 total innings of work, Nolan held opponents to a .224 batting average, struck out 21 batters and allowed just nine runs, posting a 1.97 ERA. She improved her record to 8-6 on the year and helped the Tigers grab an early lead in the NCAC.
Nolan and the Tigers will look to improve on their NCAC mark Tuesday, April 1, when they travel to Denison for a 3:30 p.m. conference doubleheader.
