Dozier Breaks School Discus Record; Tigers Place Fourth

Greencastle, Ind. - Paced by a pair of wins from Marcus Dozier, DePauw totaled 64 points and finished fourth at the Indiana Division III Track and Field Championships at Blackstock Stadium. Wabash won with 219 points, while Rose-Hulman was second with 202 and Trine third with 110.

Dozier broke the meet and school record in the discus throw and sits atop this year's Division III field after winning with a toss of 57.13 meters (187-5). Dozier also won the shot put at 15.75 meters (51-8.25). For his efforts he was named the Male Field Athlete of the Meet. Hanover's Joe Felman was the Male Track Athlete of the Meet.

DePauw's other first came from Paul Christian in the 5,000 meters in 15:25.99.

Polo Burguete placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:46.47, while Paul Watts also was second in the 10,000 meters in 32:35.13.

Nate Baker finished sixth in the hammer throw (44.68m/146-7) and seventh in the shot (13.59m/44-7). Others picking up seventh-place finishes were Johnny Miller in the 400 meters (50.91 seconds). Brian Mincks in the 800 meters (1:59.74), Demarco Henry in the discus (45.02/147-8) and Zack Batt in the 5,000 meters (15:59.09). Tyler Nemeth was eighth in the pole vault (4.00m/13-1.5).

The Tigers' 4x400 relay was sixth in 3:32.68 and the 4x100 relay placed eighth in 46.29 seconds.
