DePauw's Kopecky Earns NCAC Honor

Greencastle, Ind.- DePauw senior Ben Kopecky (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Lourdes) earned North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for his performances over the Tigers' spring break trip.

Kopecky combined for an overall record of 11-1, posting a 6-0 record at number-two singles for DePauw. He joined with fellow senior Sam Miles to go 5-1 in the Tigers' top doubles slot.

Behind strong play from Kopecky, the Tigers tallied five-straight victories in Hilton Head, S.C., against Carleton (7-2), Oberlin (8-1), #23 Wisconsin-Whitewater (7-2), Colby (6-3) and NC Wesleyan (5-0). DePauw dropped a close match to ninth-ranked Kenyon by a final score of 5-3, but Kopecky successfully won his No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles matches.

DePauw is currently 11-4 on the year and sit just outside the Division III Men's National Rankings.

Kopecky and the Tigers are back in action Saturday, April 12, when they travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on Gustavus Adolphus for a 4 p.m. contest.
