Tigers Eye NCAC Title in 2014

Greencastle, Ind.- Coming off a 14-2-3 overall record and narrowly missing out on the NCAA Division III Tournament last season, the DePauw men's soccer team will look to return to postseason play in the 2014 campaign.

Three teams from the North Coast Athletic Conference reached the NCAA postseason last year and the Tigers are hungry to grab a conference title and postseason berth. DePauw was picked to finish third in the NCAC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, trailing Ohio Wesleyan and Kenyon.

Returning for the Tigers are leading goal scorers Andy Morrison and Julian Gonzalez. Morrison was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's All-America Third Team, becoming just the fourth Tiger to earn All-America honors. Additionally, he was a NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's All-Great Lakes Region First Team selection for the second straight season and was named to the All-NCAC First Team after scoring 14 goals and notching seven assists.

Gonzalez exploded onto the scene in his rookie season scoring 14 goals and tallying three assists. He earned All-NCAC Second Team honors for his efforts. Also returning are All-NCAC Honorable Mention selections Mitch Reavis and Jake Pezzuto. Reavis was a key enforcer in the midfield adding one goal and one assist, while Pezzuto was second in the NCAC with a .795 save percentage and ranked third with a 0.80 goals-against average.

The Tigers have a pair of exhibition contests against Northern Illinois and Illinois Wesleyan before kicking off their 2014 season against John Carroll Friday, August 29, at the Ohio Northern Invitational in Ada, Ohio.
