Quinn Smith Leads Individual Field after First Day of NCAC Championships; Wittenberg Holds Team Lead

Danville, Ind. - DePauw's Quinn Smith shot a one-under, 71, to lead the 45-player individual field after the first of two rounds of the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships Event #1.

Wittenberg, ranked third by Golfstat.com and fifth in the coaches' poll, leads the team standings with a 300 followed by Wabash at 309, Allegheny at 312 and DePauw with a 314.

Smith shot par on 13 holes and birdied three others. Allegheny's Oliver White was second with an even-par, 72 after firing six birdies in the round. 

Other DePauw scores included: Brandon Bekkering (80), Charlie Castino (81), Eric Tandy (82) and Stuart Alvey (84).

Play for the first championship event wraps up on Sunday and represents half of the total NCAC Championships as the school compete next Saturday and Sunday at the Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.
