DePauw Picks Up Non-Conference Win Over Centre

Greencastle, Ind. -- Reilly Bruce and Corina Bourantas scored and freshman goalie Hannah Metzger recorded a shutout in a 2-0 win over Centre on Saturday.

Metzger improved to 4-0 on the year in an impressive outing in goal for the Tigers as she recorded six saves, including four in the second half alone. Centre outshot the Tigers 18-9 for the game.

However, DePauw made two of their three shots on goal count. Bruce scored her eighth of the year to open the game up at 21:10. DePauw capitalized on a penalty corner, which was sent to Paige Berliner who got the assist to Bruce.

Taking a 1-0 lead in halftime, DePauw kept a more aggressive attack from Centre at bay. Then at 67:06, Bournatas scored off a rebound in front of the net, her third goal of the season.

DePauw had just two penalty corners in the game, while Centre took 10.

The Tigers improve to 6-3 overall and gave Centre just their second loss of the year as they drop to 6-2. DePauw is back in action Sunday when they face Earlham in NCAC play.
