Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored three runs in the the fourth and one in the fifth and completed the North Coast Athletic Conference crossover series sweep of visiting Oberlin with a 4-1 win over the Yeomen at Walker Field.
DePauw heads to the NCAC Tournament with a 19-18 overall record and finished NCAC play at 13-6, while Oberlin concluded its season at 17-20 overall and 7-12 in conference play. The Tigers face Wooster in Thursday's first tournament game at 4 p.m. in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Oberlin took a 1-0 lead in the scond when Andrew Hutson led off with a double down the left field line and scored on Mattie DeDoes' single to center.
The Tigers were scoreless until the fourth when Cory Meixner led off the frame by reaching on a throw from the catcher that pulled the first baseman off the bag following a strikeout. Brendon Pashia followed with an RBI double to left center and scored on Connor Einertson's single through the right side. Pat Lyons doubled, moving Einertson to third and Matt Dorsett followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
Robbie Stein led off the DePauw sixth with a single and pinch-runner Max Cohen moved to second on Zach Starr's grounder. Collin Henry's sacrifice bunt moved Cohen to third before Pashia delivered a run-scoring single to left center.
Starr and Pashia each had two of DePauw's seven hits, while Hutson had three of Oberlin's nine and Jeff Schweighoffer added a pair.
Wyatt Spector improved to 4-3 after scattering six hits over five innings. Pete Stuart and Alex Sroka each logged two innings of scoreless relief with Sroka notching his second save. Harrison Wollman dropped to 2-4 after allowing one earned run in four innings and striking out six.
